Welcome to JO Candle Company information on candle care. Candles are not only a beautiful addition to any space, but they also provide a soothing and relaxing ambiance. To ensure that you get the most out of your candles and enjoy them to the fullest, it's important to follow safe candle care practices.
1. Before lighting, remove all packaging from candle.
2. On the first lighting, burn the candle for 2-4 hours (this helps to have an even wax spread across the vessel). Do not burn for longer than 4 hours.
3. Once candle is extinguished, let cool for at least 2 hours before relighting, and cut the wick at 1/4 inch (This will prevent candles from smoking and or any soot that my occur from the wick on the next burn.) Also, if any soot is on the inside of the vessel take a damp cloth and wipe the inside to clean.
4. Trim wick 1/4 of an inch before each burn (you want to always have a clean burn so you can enjoy your beautiful, scented candle).
5. Always keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches and debris.
6. It is recommended to use a snuffer when extinguishing the flames.
7. Keep away from children!
8. Never leave your burning candle unattended.
9. Avoid burning candles in drafty areas.
10. Always store your candle in a cool, dark and dry place. Avoid placing your candle in exposed sunlight.
11. Always leave 1/2 inch of wax at the bottom. Do not burn down to the bottom of the vessel.
12. Always burn your candle within sight.
